What's she up to now?

Sept., 2010

Time can never stand still and change is eminent, I am not excluded from this law. Currently I am entering the 3rd year of my PhD with two very wonderful and successful supervisors here at Trent, Dr. Xenopolous and Dr. Metcalfe. I have been enjoying teaching the 3rd year Histology course here at Trent and am now doin git for the 4th consecutive year. What an amazing opportunity to share my love of tissues and physiology with 40 willing students. I have had to leave my position on the Board of Governors so that I can place more focus on my studies, and finish these thesis ASAP! Fortunately there are many conferences to attend to keep me working hard on the write up end of things.

But don't worry - with all this focus on my work I am some how maintaining my typically active lifestyle. Although the cycling mileage has been seriously reduced with my increased work load these days, I plan to get into the gym for some proper training to train for some spring races?? I have also taken up playing ultimate frisbee with a lot of great folks in Peterborough. Nothing like running around an outdoor/indoor field throwing disks at each other, I love the playful adult soul.

I am not very good at keeping this website updated (as you have just read I try to keep busy), but I make bi-yearly efforts so please be patient. I have just included info about my recent conference activity, volunteer work, and MSc section. I will try to keep you all informed on the progress of my studies and the rest of my little life, and will try to post some info on:

  • Trip to Bolivia (Aug 2010)
  • SETAC 2010, Portland Oregon
  • ATW 2010, Toronto Ontario
  • Wood Turtle manuscript
  • Family Pics

but if you are looking for pics to occupy your time, my travel pages (click here) are always worth a revisit.... I know I spend a lot of time there.

Cheers,

Tina

Sapere aude!
